Lithograph Printed Work
The work here represents some of my exploration of a lithographic printing technique on clay, utilizing gum Arabic, linseed oil, various stains and oxides, and vintage botanical imagery. This body of work began my interest in print on ceramics, which currently focuses more on screen printing. I love the blurred and antique quality the lithograph prints possess; these images worked perfectly to accentuate the action of my glazes in the soda kiln’s volatile atmosphere. These pieces also began my interest in the potential of clay to explore stitching, embroidery and textile imagery.
